Femmechanics Rides for Bike Lanes w/ BCU!

Spring is (sort of) here! We were going to go on a ride to Mt. Auburn Cemetery BUT our planned time overlapped with the Boston Cyclists Union’s Make Way for Bike Lanes Demonstration Bike Ride!

So! Join us as we join BCU to “demonstrate to the City of Boston that we need safe bike facilities connecting our neighborhoods, paths, and parks NOW!”

We’ll meet for a potluck picnic in the Esplanade before meeting up with BCU at Copley Sq. and beginning our ride around the Public Garden. More info on the event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/273676423044865/

**this meetup is for FTW (Femme/Trans/Women) folks, but the ride with BCU is open to all**

Quick & dirty info: Apr 23rd @ 1pm @ the boat docks on the esplanade (Boston side of the Paul Dudley White bike path)

Femmechanics Goes to Massmouth Story Slam

On Monday March 20, let’s meet up and watch a story slam!

Don’t know what a story slam is? Find out here: http://www.massmouth.org/specialevents/2017/3/20/passim-final-act-slam

The slam starts at 7 and goes til 9. We’ll meet at Club Passim at 6:45. Tickets are $10 ($12 after fees) and should be purchased in advance. Seating is either in seats or at tables of four. We have reserved two tables and can try to reserve more if there is interest.

A(n optional) bike pool will be starting in JP and rolling to a stop at Landry’s on Comm Ave before continuing on the the slam:
5:40 – meet at Stony Brook T station
5:45 – roll out
6:15 – stop at Landry’s to pickup any folks who want to join there
6:45 – arrive at Club Passim

There will probably also be some of us meeting up at a location in Harvard square before the slam (and, of course, people can hang out after if they’d like). Stay tuned for details!

*While this is a femme/trans/women event, the space itself will not be.

We’re having a birthday party tomorrow!!!

media-20161023At some point in October, Femmechanics entered its terribl(y awesome) twos, so we’re celebrating! Come join us on Nov 10 starting at 6pm at Flat Top Johnny’s – 1 Kendall Sq in Cambridge – for some beer, pool, and conversation with great people. There will be mini cupcakes* and a sticker maker!

*Mini cupcakes are being generously provided by Oakleaf Cakes at 12 Westland Ave in Boston! You can check them out here: http://oakleafcakes.com/bakeshop

*Please note: While the event is for FTW folks and we should have a somewhat secluded space to ourselves, the venue will not be exclusively FTW.
